Christmas cards

I have had another play with my Lavinia stamps, I quite like the effect and have been wanting to use the Santa stamp but wasn't sure what to do with it. The background was created using my distress inks and brayer and the trees and snowflakes have been covered with glitter. I am going to make some more of these as they are quick to make the only trouble is my lovely Christmas paper pads are being neglected.

gift tags

I purchased these reindeer blanks from ebay thinking I would make some gift bags, but didn't read the size as they were about 3 inches so were no use for that project. I added some googly eyes and pompoms and turned them into gift tags instead

sewing gift

My Mum has started to sew and made her grandson a patched quilt for when he was born so I though these images were ideal. My sister in law has started playing with my sewing machine so the sewing machine image was perfect for her. Thought I would make a couple of stocking fillers from these to add to their main presents

Distress inks cards

I thought it was about time I had a proper play with my lush Lavinia stamps and my distress inks, these are some cards I made for some birthdays over at MSE. Still not quite got used to the brayer properly but I am fairly happy with how these turned out, although the blue card I didn't use quite thick enough paper so I have learnt from that. They are a lot more sparkly in real life which I was obviously happy about.
I really need some more inks as I don't have many more colours than I have used, I did ask 'Santa' for some for Christmas but all he said was don't you have enough cr*p already... I don't think he understands my crafting needs!!

Hello Kitty Card

It's my 7 year old niece's birthday tomorrow and she is hello kitty mad. She also love ballet, some kind person (who I can't remember) posted a link to some images over at MSe so I nabbed one and this is my card for her. I have added glitter to the flowers around the image. The Butterfly's were a surprise find when I tided my craft room
Papers are Memory box
Flowers Wild Orchid CRafts

sweetie guitar and shoe

I saw this idea on the internet and thought I would try making a sweetie guitar for my brother. I know it's not perfect but it was really easy to do. I hand drew a guitar shape from styrofoam or chipboard would be just as good, then stuck roses and quality street chocs on, easy peasy. Just a novelty gift to go with his main present.
The shoe (just in case you were wondering what it was supposed to be lol) I have done for my niece as she has had sweet bouquets on her request for the last couple of years and I wanted to do something a bit different this year so I have made her choccy shoe and will put some cash in her Christmas card for her to go shopping with.

Picture Pencil

A cheap and cheerful idea for a Christmas stocking filler, I would show you the link but I can't find it. All you do is print 3 x 5 by 6 photo's onto normal printer paper then divide into 4, measure across as I can't remember the sixes then cut out. Then I rolled the photos onto 12 pencils and voila. I am going to mix them up and put them in a bag with a label with a picture on and call it a jigsaw pencil puzzle!!, might keep my niece's entertained while mum and dad can get on with making dinner.

This is my match box advent calender, the tutorial for making it is here
The papers are from Dovecraft Jolly happy Christmas, I didn't have any chipboard shapes so I have added brads to the sides and the top is snowflake cut out with Martha Stewart punch. I just need to find some treats that are small enough to fit inside

Christmas card

I saw this image by Whiff Of Joy and it gave me an idea for a card. I thought it would be a good use of getting rid of some of the millions of candy canes I have purchased lol. I quite like this card, going to have a play with some more designs I think
The image has been coloured with pro markers and I have added stickles to the hat, and necklace.
The backing papers are Joanna Sheen
Ribbon from my stash

Christmas card

I saw these papers in a card magazine and happened to stumble across Joanna Sheen stall at the NEC. I debated whether to get the papers and stamps as they were a bit expensive but I am glad I did as I love them. I have coloured the image with pro markers and matted onto to sparkly red card and silver card. I have added the brads as there was a mark when I stamped it. I think I will be using these stamps a lot. Ribbon from my stash

Thursday, November 11, 2010

I have been having a play with my new brayer and inks I got from the NEC. It's not perfect as I couldn't get the blue to blend into the card, although I am quite pleased with it, so I guess not being perfect doesn't mater if the thought was there!!. Going to practice more with my inks and brayer as I love the effects and I love these Lavinia stamps

NEC Stash

Pictures of the things I 'needed' from the NEC, I think I may have overdone it with my ribbon purchases but there are a few things that I bought that I have been waiting to get for a while, so I need to start making my Christmas presents and cards. I didn't stay all day as it got really busy and started to get difficult getting into the stalls, I had a good day out though. Stocked up on paper so that should last me through until next year.

Birthday card with attitude

This a card I have made for my five year old niece. She is a little bit feisty so I think the image fits her perfectly. The image is a digital image from Mo Manning and the DP are My Mind's Eye.

I have been coveting these ribbons for ages, and finally managed to find some so of course I ordered them all, they come in five colours. I love them the photo does not do it justice I can see me using these a lot.

House Mouse Card

This is a card I made for a card swap over on MSE. The recipe was two papers, one image and 3 embellishments. I saw something similar from a blog when I was browsing but cannot remember whose blog it was, if I can find it I will add a link later. I created a towel out of ribbon, added some black paper in disguise of a mirror lol and added some gems for steam from the bath.
The bathtub has had glossy accents added to give it a bit of a shine.

Kraftin Kimmie Card

Another Birthday card. For this card I have used Kraftin Kimmie Can-Can, I found it a right pain to stamp though but got there in the end
Image has been coloured with promarkers and there is a bit of glitter added (although you can't tell from the rubbish picture) The lipstick didn't look that bright in real life either
DP Tim Holtz Vintage shabby (totally in love with it)
Ribbon is from my stash
